10:00a – 10:45 MOJO GREEN PROJECT
Pocket grooves tighter than Inca ruins. Crackling horns and an Afro Beat inflected fusion of jazz, jam & funk, with melodic guitar interplay and wicked leads, makes the Mojo Green a monster festival act in the making. Mojo flaunts its musical influences without shame: Grey Boy Allstars, Sonny Rollins, Hendrix, Zepplin and The Funky Meters are all wrapped up in their funk ‘n’ roll. But this is no smorgasborg. More like a gourmet tasting plate served atop a tie-dyed place mat of international bluesy funk. The dynamics are front and center. The jams are clean and unindulgent. If you can’t dance to this, you’re already dead.

11:15a – 12:15 THE BIG NASTY
The Big Nasty utilizes a unique combination of instruments that allow for a fresh take on rock and roll and country - Upright Bass, the Cajon box drum and Electric guitar. This original instrumentation has allowed the band to develop a truly original sound that will rock your socks right off. Compromised of SF Bay Area music vets Ryan Lukas (bass, vocals), and from ALBINO! Jacob Groopman (guitar, vocals) and Matthew "Smitty" Smith (percussion, vocals). The Big Nasty is a new kind of power trio.

2:15p – 3:15 PATAFUNK from Venezuela
“Patafunk surfs the waves of the machine but with a lively and well-done Caribbean mariaje that does not neglect the structure of what should be a good song digestible and partying. It's all just a big fusion of house, pop and The Beach Boys. This band is an excellent option for the Venezuela music scene, looming as one of the best bands of the year!!!” – Rolling Stone Magazine, Latin America.

3:30p – 5:00 BIG LIGHT
Big Light is a rock band from San Francisco. Formed in 2007 as a vehicle for singer/guitarist Fred Torphy to get his songs into the world, the band achieved instant recognition and legitimacy with the early addition of bass player Steve Adams. A fixture in the Bay Area music scene and founding member of pop/rock jam stars ALO, here Adams gets to flex his rock & roll muscles. “I’m definitely turning my amp up and using more fuzz” he says. “One thing I really love about Big Light is its true garage rock sound. It's gritty in all the right ways” continues Adams.
Inspired by contemporary bands like My Morning Jacket, The Slip, Dr. Dog and Wilco, more than specific stylistic similarities, it’s a mindset that Big Light shares with these acts. “We’re always looking to keep things as sonically interesting as possible” says bandleader Torphy. “But it all needs to come back to serve the song.” In other words, Big Light is catchy enough to land on the radio but adventurous enough to engage those who refuse to listen to it. And when it comes to the live show, anything goes; so don’t be surprised to see kids singing-along one moment and freaking out to a ten-minute jam the next.
Since debuting the current lineup on May 15, 2009 at San Francisco's Make Out Room, Big Light has been legging it out on the road, and come the end of this summer will have played to fans all over California, Utah and Washington, highlighted by appearances at the Outside Lands Music Festival, Wanderlust, Dessert Rocks, Summer Meltdown, and High Sierra Music Festival (where they played the Main Stage this year).
